Why Do Fitness Resolutions Often Fail?

We’ve all been there - Set a New Years Resolution and then two months down the line we’ve not just fallen off the wagon but leapt! Then the inevitable guilt sets in.

STOP BEATING YOURSELF UP!

New Years Resolutions often don’t work and it’s important to understand why many fitness resolutions don’t last:

Unrealistic Goals: Setting goals like “lose 1 stone in a month” or “exercise every single day” can be overwhelming and unsustainable.

Lack of Structure: Without a clear plan or routine, it’s easy to lose focus and motivation

All-or-Nothing Mindset: Missing a single workout can lead to feelings of failure and a tendency to give up altogether.

Monotony: Doing the same workouts day after day can make fitness feel like a chore instead of something you enjoy.

The good news is that these obstacles can be overcome with the right approach – and that’s where 360 Fitness and our New Year Challenge come in.

How 360 Fitness Can Help You Stick to Your Resolutions

Our timetable is jam-packed with great value classes and can be a great way to help you with your New Year fitness resolutions:

1. We are Fun and Engaging

One of the biggest reasons people give up on fitness is that it feels like a chore. Our workouts are way to follow and set to great music. I endeavour to make the classes fun and enjoyable. This making it easier to stay consistent.

2. Beginner-Friendly

Whether you’re just a total beginner or returning to fitness, 360 Fitness has classes that are suitable for all fitness levels. You don’t need to be a pro – just grab your gym kit and water and Go! We have chair options for those that want it.

3. Structure

Stay accountable - plan in advance - preferably one month at a time and stick to it.. Book your classes and schedule your ‘at home’ fitness activities in advance.

Our classes commence on 6th January. Schedule three different workouts per week so you get a balanced and effective routine. Ideally you should be aiming for 150 minutes per week.

Each week focuses on:

1x Full-body strength:-Weights at home, Kinisi Flow, Purestretch Beat, gardening

1x Cardio:- Brisk walking, cycling, running, Rockbox - get yourself ‘out of puff’

1x Flexibility:- Purestrech, R&R , Yoga,

4. No Special Equipment Needed

All you need is a yoga mat for class and maybe a couple of hand-weights for working out at home – no gym memberships, no expensive gear. We provide all your other equipment for class.

We have easy Pay As You Go options or you can buy a discounted package and mix and match out timetable with our easy online booking

5. Stay Motivated with a January Journal

Keep a January Journal to track your progress. Our Facebook page will be filled with tips, motivational quotes to help you.

It’s the perfect tool to help you stay accountable and stay focused on your REALISTIC goals.

Tips for Sticking to Your Resolutions

Here are some additional strategies to keep you motivated throughout the challenge – and beyond:

Set Realistic Goals
Instead of aiming for a drastic transformation, focus on small, achievable milestones. For example, “Complete three workouts a week for six weeks.”

Find a Support System
Fitness is more fun with friends! Invite a friend to join the challenge or connect with our class Facebook community online for support and encouragement.

Track Your Progress
Use your January Journal to log your workouts and note how you feel after each session. Seeing your progress on paper can be incredibly motivating.

Celebrate Small Wins
Every step forward is worth celebrating. Finished Week 1?Treat yourself to a relaxing evening or a new piece of workout gear.

Don’t Let Setbacks Stop You
Missed a workout? Don’t sweat it! Don’t dive off the wagon - Climb back on and pick up where you left off. Progress, not perfection, is what matters.

Self care matters

Exercise is fundamental to long term health and independence into old age. Exercise should be at the forefront of your self-care package. Many people do not allow time for their self care and do not prioritise exercise. In order for you to look after others you must look after yourself.

We are only a message / email / text away if you need any help or support.
